Location, Location, Location

The Michigan Association of Realtors conducted a survey of 400 buyers to find out what was truly important when they selected a location for their home.  The results offer good reasons why a local, experienced agent can offer more in selling your home or assisting you in buying the perfect home.  Rural Eaton Rapids and surrounding areas have so much to offer and we meet the criteria from the survey results…

For Michigan residents, the decision to move to a different home was influenced by a variety of reasons. The survey defined these important factors in the decision to relocate.

24%  newer/bigger home
15%  job requirements
13%  purchased first home
 8%   better area
6%   closer to family or friends

In general the survey found that issues like location of family and friends and the neighborhood and its proximity to green space were the most important factors for the move.  Top on the list were areas of low crime rate.  75% rated low crime rate as very important.

Rural areas were more important than suburban areas.  The commute was less important if the location offered everything the buyer wanted.
Before moving, 42% lived in the city, 57% suburbs and rural
After moving, 32% chose the city, 67% suburbs and rural

More green space was the third most important consideration in deciding where to move, 76% mentioned green space as important

50% felt high quality schools important, 40% not important, 26% neutral, 34% thought it significant

There are as many reasons to move as there are homeowners, however the rural area of Eaton Rapids certainly meets the survey requirements.
